Welcome...

Welcome to our blog!

Here at SCR (Sustainable Childcare Resources) we realise the need to get information to services regarding Quality Areas, National Standards and the EYLF so some of our dedicated consultants have created a blog to help you out!  This will contain suggestions on how to meet elements within the Quality Areas, pictures and activity ideas, environmental facts, tips on incorporating sustainable practises, assessment visit tips and much much more.  We are here to help you and would love your suggestions and feedback.
*** Happy Reading ***

Are you having trouble trying to figure out how to meet the Quality Areas under the new National Quality Standards?  Are you trying to figure out how to naturalise your environments? Are you having difficulty getting your head around the learning outcomes?  Need some guidance with sustainable practises?
Well you are not alone!  So many people out there in the childcare profession (and at home) are desperate for more information and some sort of support.  I have been in the profession for about 16 years now and am in a position to see a wide range of services and what is happening out there so I decided to start a blog in the hope that I can help many of you in some small way.  We are all here for the children so lets start sharing!!

Meeting Quality Area 1 Educational Program & Practice:

1.1.4: The documentation about each child’s program and progress is available to families.

Suggestion: Make sure every child within your service has a Learning Journal of some type and this is accessible not only to families but to children as well.  These should contain information about your programs, the EYLF and the Learning Outcomes along with a range of Learning Stories, photos, drawings etc.  Make sure there are sections in which Parents can comment and give their feedback.
